LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Margaret (Peg) Deegan Hattaway, 95, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019.  She was born November 30, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of the late Edward Alowishus Deegan and Anna Beecham Deegan and is the wife of the late Scott Hattaway, a Navy serviceman. Mrs. Hattaway was a retired Elementary Math Teacher and a USO singer during WWII.  She enjoyed playing cards, traveling and cruising.  She was of the Catholic faith.

Mrs. Hattaway is survived by a son, Richard Hohneke and wife, Sue; and three grandchildren, Tammy Ricky and Susie.

Mrs. Hattaway was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Peggy Murphy; and her parents.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Hattaway will be 3:00 pm, Friday, August 23, 2019 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:00 pm, Friday, August 23, 2019 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster, SC officiated by Rev. Jose' Gabriel Cruz Rodriguez.
