LANCASTER, SC :::::::::::Mrs. Margaret Louise Bedford Childers, age 87, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at her home. She was born June 21, 1925 in York County, the daughter of the late Ellis Bedford and Texie Young Bedford and was the wife of the late Joseph Lamar Childers. Mrs. Childers retired from Springs Industries - Packing Dept. and was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Mrs. Childers is survived by a son, Benny Childers of Lancaster, 3 daughters, Libby Doster and her husband Ray of Lancaster, Kathy Harrison and her husband Jerry of Fort Mill, and Betsy Hanson and her husband Kenny of Lancaster, 5 grandchildren, Lamar Doster and his wife Alison, Amy Carroll and her husband Adam, Matthew Harrison and his wife Alexandra, Morgan Childers, and Kisha Wright and her husband Jamie, and 5 great grandchildren, Hannah Doster, Daniel Doster, Brooke Carroll, Karson Wright and Kade Wright. Mrs. Childers was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Bedford, and a sister, Ardith Howard.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Childers will be 3:00 pm Saturday, November 17, 2012 at St. Luke United Methodist Church by Rev. Bill McCowan. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.The Family of Mrs. Childers will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:00 pm in the church sanctuary and the family suggests memorials be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, General Budget or Bereavement Fund, 128 Providence Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
