LANCASTER, SC:::::::Mrs. Margaret Leona Barr Sims, age 89, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at The Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. She was born January 11, 1928 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Harrison Barr and Wilma Deese Barr and was the wife of the late William James Sims. She was a self-employed business owner of The Perfect Place, a craft shop, in Gerton, NC. Mrs. Sims loved crafting, quilting and spending time in the mountains. She was a member at Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mrs. Sims is survived by a son, Jackie Sims and his wife, Pam; a brother, Steve Barr and his wife, Doris; and two grandchildren, Johnny and Dwayne Sims.

Mrs. Sims is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William James Sims; and a son, Jerry Sims.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mrs. Sims will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Jason Myers, Rev. Wayne Dickson and Rev. Don Coppedge.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm- 7:30 pm Friday, May 12, 2017 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Wayne T. Patrick House, 2275 Indian Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
