LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Margaret Zelphor "Granny Z" Altman, age 95, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at White Oak Manor.  She was born February 20, 1924 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late James Pierce Hinson and Leona Blackmon Hinson and was the wife of the late Nicholas H. Altman.  Mrs. Altman enjoyed making quilts and pillows that she shared with her family.  She enjoyed gardening, making biscuits and spending time with her family.  She was an avid Gamecock fan and was a member of Camp Creek United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.

Mrs. Altman is survived by two sons; Nicholas Altman (Bobbie) of Gastonia, NC and Larry Altman of Lancaster;  a son in law, Eugene Blackmon of Oak Island, NC; ten grandchildren, Rhett Blackmon (Bobbie), Brett Blackmon (Penny), Janet Morgan, Bryan Altman, Amy Kelly (Raymond), Ashley Bradley, Andrew Bradley, Benjamin Bradley (Carey), Ann Tillman (Philip), and Stephen Altman (Jessica); seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Altman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Judy Margaret Blackmon; two brothers, Alvin Hinson and James Hinson, and a sister, Betty Hinson.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mrs. Altman will be 11:00 am Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Lancaster Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Chris Tipton. The family will receive friends following the service.
