KERSHAW, SC::::::::::: Mrs. Marcine Haire Gainey, age 78, died Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born April 8, 1936 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Kenzie Haire and Hennie Plyler Haire and was the wife of the late James Thomas Gainey. Mrs. Gainey was a homemaker and seamstress. She was a caregiver and loved to read. The Bible was her favorite book. She enjoyed indoor gardening and was an avid supporter of our Disabled American Veterans. Mrs. Gainey was a member of New Haven Baptist Church and most recently attended Pleasant Plain Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gainey is survived by nieces and nephews including; Rev. Ernest Medlin, William "Bill" Broome, Teresa Jenkins, Becky Morris, Pam Koestner and many more special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She had no children but was a Mother to everyone.

Mrs. Gainey was preceded in death by five brothers, Clyde Broome, John C. Broome, Ira Haire, Bobby Eugene Haire and Ernest "Billy Ray" Haire and two sisters, Eula Mae Haire and Minnie Bell Medlin.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Gainey will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Todd Montgomery. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Mrs. Gainey will receive friends from one hour before the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, at the funeral home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Pleasant Plain Baptist Church, 3795 Pleasant Plain Road, Kershaw, SC 29067. The family will meet at the home of Bill Broome, 1688 Waddell Stinson Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
