LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Tommie Marcene Crenshaw Sinclair, age 87, passed away peacefully at home with all of her children present on Sunday, April 7, 2019.  She was born November 2, 1931 in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of the late Thomas Edward Crenshaw and Mettie Stack Crenshaw and was the wife of the late Claude H. Sinclair, Sr.  Mrs. Sinclair was a strong christian with a servant heart, loved helping others and was admired by many.  She retired from the sewing room of Springs Industries, was also a therapeutic foster parent for children with special needs and fostered many children, two of which she raised from their teens and watched them grow into very successful adults.  She loved the beach and her family.  Mrs. Sinclair attended the Church of Lancaster until her health prohibited her attendance.

Mrs. Sinclair is survived by three sons, Claude Henry Sinclair, Jr. and his wife, Martha Jo of Lancaster, Tommy Sinclair and his wife, Melinda of Pawleys Island, and Steve Sinclair and his wife, Paula of Lancaster; three daughters, Janice Sinclair Ainsworth of Lancaster, Rhea Sinclair Plemmons and her husband, Michael of Whitmire, SC, and Patricia "Patty" Sinclair Penegar of Lancaster; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Sinclair is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Randy Sinclair; two sons-in-law, Wylie Penegar, Sr. and Patrick Ainsworth; two grandchildren, Gina M. Starnes and Wylie Penegar, Jr.; and a brother, Samuel Buddy Crenshaw.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Sinclair will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Howard Penegar. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, one hour prior to service, at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Lancaster, 901 W. Meeting Street, Suite 201, Lancaster, SC  29720.
