Obituary

LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Marion "Manny" Sistare, age 84, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025. He was born December 11, 1940, in Lancaster, South Carolina to the late John Dalton Sistare Sr. and the late Gladys Beachum Sistare. Manny was the loving husband of Rhonda Funderburk Sistare and the father of Scott Sistare and Karla Sistare Milhorn. Manny served four years in the United States Navy. He loved building houses, bluegrass music, food festivals, farm animals, John Deer tractors, black coffee, and his four grandchildren, Bailey, Avery, Caroline, and Jake. Manny always had a joke to tell and never met a stranger.

Manny is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rhonda Sistare; his brother, John Dalton Sistare Jr.; his son, Brian Scott Sistare; his daughter, Karla Sistare Milhorn (Pete); and four grandchildren, Bailey, Avery, Caroline, and Jake.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Dalton and Gladys Sistare; brother, Quay Sistare; and two sisters, Kathryn Sistare Dunlap and Joanne Sistare Saks.

The Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00am, Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Spring Hill Baptist Church in the sanctuary. The family will receive family and friends in the church fellowship hall following the service for visitation.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Spring Hill Baptist Church Building Fund: 2245 Old Camden Monroe Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720. In honor of his favorite dogs, Jax and Marsh, other contributions can be made to the Lancaster County Animal Shelter: 2074 Pageland Hwy, Lancaster, SC 29720.
