LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Lynda Starnes Lockman, age 77, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Clyde Henry Starnes and the late Dorothy Sue Plott Starnes and was the wife of the late Donnie Keith Lockman. Mrs. Lockman loved the Lord, her family and church family.  She was very musically talented; she was able to play the piano, guitar, and sing.  Mrs. Lockman enjoyed gardening, floral arranging, and at one point in her life having her own floral shop.  She also graduated from Beaver Creek Bible Institute.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  Mrs. Lockman was a member of Canaan Land Ministries.

Mrs. Lockman is survived by her two sons, Allen Mahaffey (Sandra), and Tony Lee Mahaffey (Tami); two brothers, Buddy Starnes (Deborah), and Bobby Starnes (Hannah); seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and her church family.

Mrs. Lockman was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Keith Lockman; her parents; and two brothers, Richard Starnes, and Ray Starnes.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Lockman will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 13, 2022, at Canaan Land Ministries Church officiated by Rev. Howard Penegar. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm, Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Burgess Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Canaan Land Ministries Church, 4964 Taxahaw Rd, Lancaster, SC 29720.
