LANCASTER, SC ~ Luis Alfonso Gomez-Roman "Poncho", age 22 passed away Friday, November 26, 2021. He was born May 23, 1999, in Veracruz, Mexico, son of Luis Alberto Gomez Campos and Sarita Concepcion Roman Martinez. Poncho played baseball for Lancaster High School and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Cars were a passion of Poncho's. He loved hanging out with friends and eating chicken wings. Poncho loved his family and spending time with them.

Poncho is survived by his son, Xavier Gomez; a daughter on the way, Leilani Gomez; his parents, Luis and Sarita; his girlfriend and mother of daughter on the way, Luz Casarrubias; three sisters, Giselle Gomez-Roman, Britney Gomez, and Hania Gomez-Roman; and a large extended family.

The Celebration of Life Service for Poncho will be 12:30 pm Saturday, December 4, 2021, at St. Catherine Catholic Church officiated by Father Javier Heredia. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home. For those who wish, please wear red shirts and Boston Red Sox baseball hats.

LANCASTER, SC ~ Luis Alfonso Gómez-Román "Poncho", de 22 años de edad falleció el viernes, 26 de noviembre del 2021. Nació el 23 de mayo del 1999 en Veracruz, México, hijo de Luis Alberto Gómez Campos y Sarita Concepción Román Martínez. Poncho jugaba béisbol para Lancaster High School y era un fanático de los Boston Red Sox. Los autos eran una de las pasiones de Poncho. Le encantaba salir con amigos y comer alitas. Poncho amaba a su familia y pasar tiempo con ellos.

A Poncho le sobreviven su hijo, Xavier Gómez; una hija en camino, Leilani Gómez; sus padres, Luis y Sarita; su novia y madre de su hija en camino, Luz Casarrubias; tres hermanas, Giselle Gomez-Roman, Britney Gomez y Hania Gomez-Roman; y una gran familia extendida.

El Servicio de Celebración de la Vida de Poncho será el sábado, 4 de diciembre del 2021 a la 12:30 pm en la Iglesia Católica St. Catherine oficiada por el Padre Javier Heredia. Seguirá el entierro en Lancaster Memorial Park.

Antes del servicio, la familia recibirá a los amigos y familiares de 10:00 am a 12:00 pm en Burgess Funeral Home. Para aquellos que desean, favor de usar camisas rojas y gorras de béisbol de los Boston Red Sox.
