KERSHAW, SC :::::::: Mrs. Lucille Byrd Blackwell, age 93, died July 4, 2012 at her home. She was born February 5, 1919 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Ward Byrd and Sally Catoe Byrd and was the wife of the late Charles W. Blackwell. Mrs. Blackwell was retired from Ti-Caro Net where she worked in the sewing department. Mrs. Blackwell was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Blackwell is survived by two brothers, Merley Byrd and J.D. Byrd, four sisters, Sue Bouza, Katherine Vinson, Frankie Eubanks, and Ruth Byrd, four grandchildren, Kim Blackwell, Candace Rosado, Cherry McKeithan and Bobby Blackwell, five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.Mrs. Blackwell was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Robert Blackwell and Larry William Blackwell, two sisters, Julia Threatt and Jessie Baker.A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Blackwell will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Flat Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Charlie Simmons. Burial will follow at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.The Family of Mrs. Blackwell will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Flat Creek Baptist Church fellowship building, and the family suggests memorials be made to Flat Creek Baptist Church.
