Obituary

LEXINGTON, SC ~ Mrs. Mary Louise Estes Barnes Williams, age 97, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025. She was born in Chester, SC on September 26, 1927, a daughter of the late Lonnie Estes and Pauline Wade Estes. She was first married to the late Ervin W. Barnes for 40 years, and after his passing, she later married the late Woodrow "Woody" Williams. Mrs. Williams was employed as a scheduler with Springs Industries Grace Bleachery. She was a member of the Senior Circle with Springs Memorial Hospital, and the Red Hat Society Classy Lassies in Lancaster, SC. Mrs. Williams was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School for 8–10-year-olds.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter, Kay B. Crapps (Michael) of Lexington, SC; daughter-in-law Gloria G. Barnes of Greer, SC; grandchildren Kelley Myrick (Hugh), Megan Plexico (Drake), and Chad Stewart (Kristin); step-grandchildren Manning Crapps (Katie), Jordan Crapps (Morgan), and Lauren Owens (Will); and eleven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her first husband, Ervin W. Barnes; her second husband, Woodrow "Woody" Williams; her son, Roger E. Barnes; her parents, Lonnie and Pauline Estes; her sister, Mabel Kilpatrick and brother, Roy Estes.

Louise loved her church, traveling, spending time with friends, and cooking for her much beloved family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Williams will be 2:30 pm Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Grace Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, SC. Burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm, one hour prior to the service, in the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Williams family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers and staff at Westminster Memory Care in Lexington, SC, and the caregivers at Agape Hospice Care, who provided her with such attentive and loving care over the past years, and particularly during her most recent days.
