LANCASTER, SC::::::: Mrs. Lorene Hinson Phillips, age 83, died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at her home. She was born July 11, 1931 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Leroy Yates Hinson and Ellen Mahaffey Hinson and was the wife of Clyde Phillips, Jr. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church where she helped with Vacation Bible School and the food ministry.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by her husband, Clyde Phillips, Jr.; a daughter, Jennifer P. Starnes and her companion, Ricky Wright of Lancaster; a sister, Maxine Bradley of Lancaster; a grandson, Jacob Clyde Starnes and his wife Leigh and a great granddaughter, Kristen Starnes.
Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by a son, Irvin Thomas Phillips; a daughter in law, Debbie Faulkenberry Phillips and two sisters, Mary Lee McPherson and Polly Hinson.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Phillips will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Hyde Park Baptist Church by Rev. Charlie Simpson. Burial will follow in High Point Baptist Church Cemetery.
The Family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:00 pm, Monday evening, May 11, 2015 at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Highway, Lancaster and suggest memorial contributions may be made to Hyde Park Baptist Church, 1898 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster, SC 29720 or Hospice Care of South Carolina, 412 N. White Street, Suite A, Lancaster, SC 29720.
