LANCASTER, SC – Mrs. Lois Jeanette Adams Small, age 91, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024. She was born March 19, 1933 in Honea Path, SC to the late Roy Ernest Adams and the late Nellie Inez Adams. She married her first and only love, Thomas Bunyon Small. They were married 68 wonderful years. She retired with Springs I.E. department after 44 ½ years. She was a member of White Springs Baptist Church. Lois and Thomas were baptized together in 1952 at White Springs. She taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the morning circle and the senior circle. Lois was also a member of the Eastern Star and Shiloh Unity Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, especially Christmas snowflakes and bedroom slippers to give away, and traveling with Thomas. Lois was a two-time breast cancer survivor.
Lois was the loving mother of Nancy Wolfe (Richard) of Lancaster, and Danny Small of Chester. She is survived by her children; former daughter-in-law, Martha McFadden Small; four grandchildren, Nicole Ambrosino of Fort Lawn, Ronald Thomas Seegars, Jr. (Tammy) of Lancaster, R.T. Small, and Matthew Small (Hannah); one great-grandchildren, Isabella Seegars; her brother, Richard Adams (Sarah) of High Point, N.C.; three nieces, Cheryl Stevens of Rock Hill, Ashley Clinard (Matthew) of Mooresville, N.C., and Kathryn (Jason) of High Point, N.C.; two nephews, William "Bud" Adams (Dana), and Manning Suttle (Judy).
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sisters, Mildred Suttle, and Carol Stevens; and her brother, Eugene Adams.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Lois will be 2:00 pm Monday, September 9, 2024 at Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the graveside service and other times at Lois's home, 1471 Monroe Hwy. Lancaster, SC 29720.
The family would like to send a special thank you to The Kenneth Blackmon Family, Dora, Veta, Libby, and Agape Care of Lancaster for the wonderful care that was given to Lois.
