Obituary

LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Lisa Jean McNeely McDaniel, age 59, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. Born April 20, 1966, in Lancaster, SC, she was the daughter of Lewis Franklin "Frank" McNeely and Josephine "Jo" Hinson McNeely and was the loving wife of John David McDaniel.

Lisa was a beloved daughter, with a flair for dancing and cheerleading. She received multiple awards for her poise and beauty in various pageants. Lisa cherished her time as a Brownie Girl Scout in her youth. Her sharp intellect and studious nature were evident from her place on the honor roll, and she was well-liked by her teachers. Lisa had a lifelong love of reading, which allowed her to devour books in less than a day, and she loved swimming - especially at the lake. She was a truly wonderful mother and grandmother, who adored her grandchildren, including those she welcomed into her heart as her own. Her faith was central to her life, and she cherished the teachings of Pastor Chad Pate at Restoration Church Lancaster. With great passion, she celebrated recovery and held a deep affection for The House of Pearls. Her kind heart also led her to volunteer for a lifetime with the U.S. Disc Golf Championship. Lisa received The Golden Rake, which is presented at The Championship in recognition of exceptional service by disc golf volunteers. She and her husband, John, first crossed paths at the Special Olympics.

Lisa is survived by her husband of 35 years, John McDaniel; her daughter, Alison "Alice" Reep McDaniel; her parents, Frank and Jo McNeely; three bonus daughters, Hayley, Sandy, and Nena; a bonus son, Matt; four grandchildren, Serenity, Carson, Summer, and Singer; four bonus grandchildren, Lily, Marcus, Braylee, and Damian; two sisters, Mandy Lyles (Woody), and Susan McNeely; a sister-in-law, Beth Myers; and nieces and nephews, Frankie, Shane, Beau, and Sarah.

She was preceded in death by her son, Adam Alexander McDaniel; two brothers-in-law, Thomas McDaniel, and Buddy Myers; her grandparents, Ted and Fammie Bowers Hinson, and Eugene and Addie McNeely; and many loved aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service, at Restoration Church Lancaster.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Restoration Church Lancaster, officiated by Pastor Chad Pate.
