Obituary

LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Linda Long Williams, 74, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.  She was born July 26, 1944 in Monroe, NC, a daughter of the late John Bunyan Long and Callie Pressley Long and was the wife of James Reid "Jimmy" Williams.  Linda began her working career with the Lancaster Telephone Company and retired in 1988.  She continued her career with BB&T Bank after returning to college and receiving her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of South Carolina in 1989.  Linda loved her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed playing bridge.  She was an active member of First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and volunteered in the kitchen serving the Wednesday night meal.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jimmy Williams; a son, James Reid "Jim" Williams, Jr. and his wife, Angela of Rock Hill; a daughter, Leigh-Ann Lowery and her husband, Jim of Montgomery, AL; four grandchildren, Zachary Williams, Wil Lowery, Ripley Williams and Coral Lowery; a brother, Rodney Long and his wife, Jeanne of Wilmington, NC; a sister, Kathy Long Whitley and her husband, Rick of Monroe, NC; and a brother-in-law, Darrell Hunter and his wife, Susan of Lancaster.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Johnny Wayne "Sonny" Long.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Williams will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 11, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Lancaster officiated by Rev. Randy Hatcher.

The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center and suggest memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, PO Box 670, Lancaster, SC  29721.
