FORT MILL, SC ~ Devoted wife and mother, Linda Jo Johnson Peterson passed away on April 4, 2022 at that age of 71 after a courageous and lengthy battle with cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their life to the fullest.

Linda was born on December 22, 1950 in Waukegan, Illinois to parents Robert M. Johnson and Shirley R. Powell Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother David R. Johnson. She graduated from Waukegan High School in 1969. Linda is survived by her husband Joseph (48 years of marriage), her sons Erik (Kara) and Christian (Melissa), and daughter Brooke (Brent) and her grandchildren Cruz, Makayla, Julianna, Jordan, Madison, Micah and Emelia. She cherished the time spent with her grandkids.

The simplest pleasures in life brought Linda great joy. She loved cooking, reading her Bible, exercising, traveling and being with her family and friends. Her bright and energetic personality was contagious to everyone she met. For over a decade, she worked as an orthodontic assistant in Gurnee, Illinois. She touched many lives with her kind heart and passion for life. She loved the Lord and was a faithful attendant at Forest Hill Church in Waxhaw. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Linda Peterson will be 3:00 pm Monday, April 11, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Mike Boulware.
