FORT MILL, SC ~ Mrs. Lillie Rice McAfee, age 82, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022, at her home.  She was the daughter of the late Charles B. Rice and the late Julia Collier Rice and was the wife of Kenneth D. McAfee for 62 years. Mrs. McAfee was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

For years, Mrs. McAfee enjoyed playing bridge and tennis with her friends, collecting antiques for her antique mall booth, and planning beach outings with her family and friends. She had a passion for interior decorating and friends would regularly seek out her expertise. Mrs. McAfee adored her family, especially spending time with her grandsons, who never passed up a full on game of Monopoly and Canasta with her. Bringing her family and friends together to celebrate holidays and special events was one of her favorite things. She loved deeply and was a strong mother figure to so many.

Mrs. McAfee is survived by her husband, Kenneth D. McAfee; her two children, Keith D. McAfee (Ann Marie) of Charlotte, NC, and Michael A. McAfee (Nazanin) of North Hills, CA; three grandsons, Zachary, Ben, and Elijah McAfee; four brothers, Richard Rice (Ellie), Randel Rice (Debbie), James H. Rice, Larry G. Rice (Connie); and two sisters-in-law, Nancy Carol Puryear (Leslie), and Charlotte Ann Valez; five nieces, Debbie Adams, Kristina Parish, Anne Leslie Matney (Bill), Valerie Weld (Richard), and Angie Radebaugh (Lance); five nephews, Steve Pope, Eddie Pope (Brenda), Jerry Pope, David L. Puryear (Erica), and David Rice (Jo Ellen); and a special family friend, Betsy Harrington.

Mrs. McAfee was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Julia Rice; her sister, Patsy Ruth Pope and brother-in-law, Charles Pope; and a brother, Charles "Chuck" Rice.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. McAfee will be 11:00 am Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Randy Madsen. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00 am, two hours prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home.
