LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mrs. Lillian Bass Ammons, age 96, died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Lancaster Convalescent Center where she was a resident. She was born November 14, 2008 in McCall, SC, the daughter of the late Edward Hilton Bass and Sallie Jeanette Bass and was the wife of the late Grover Cleveland Ammons. Mrs. Ammons retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Second Baptist Church for 71 years. Mrs. Ammons was the last member of her immediate family; survived by her niece and caregiver, Pat McManus of Lancaster and many more nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Ammons will be 11:00 am, Tuesday morning, September 16, 2008 at Second Baptist Church by Dr. Brian Saxon and Rev. Larry Helm with burial to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.The Family of Mrs. Ammons will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Second Baptist Church in the Foyer and suggest memorial contributions be made to Second Baptist Church, Imagine the Impact Building Fund, 1426 Great Falls Highway, Lancaster, SC 29720.The Family will meet at the home of her niece, Pat McManus, 2664 Great Falls Hwy., Lancaster, SC.
