LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mrs. Leone Faile Steele, age 88, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Springs Memorial Hospital. She was born June 23, 1924 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late George Lee Faile and Wilma Newman Faile and was the wife of the late Robert Eugene "Gene" Steele. Mrs. Steele retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church.

Mrs. Steele is survived by a son, Johnny R. Steele and his wife Libby, 3 daughters, Jean Small and her husband Donnie, Bonnie Denton and Hilda Plyler all of Lancaster, 3 brothers, Joe Faile, Williford Faile, and Robert "Sambo" Faile, 3 sisters, Virginia Rollings, Martha Watts, and Mary Miller, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Steele was preceded in death by a brother, Linward Faile, a sister, Billie Knight and a granddaughter, Lisa Joanne Murphy.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Steele will be 3:00 pm, Monday, April 22, 2013 at Hyde Park Baptist Church by Rev. Charlie Simpson. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The Family of Mrs. Steele will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Hartley Burgess Funeral Home and the family suggests memorials be made to Hyde Park Baptist Church, Wheelchair/Ramp Fund, 1898 Flat Creek Road, Lancaster SC 29720.
