CONCORD, NC ~ Mrs. Leila Johnson Funderburk, age 87, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Novant Health- Huntersville, NC.  She was born July 20, 1931 in Jefferson, SC, the daughter of the late Daniel M. Johnson and Lena Pigg Johnson and was the wife of the late Coan Arthur "C.A." Funderburk, Jr.  Mrs. Funderburk enjoyed her career as a cosmetologist early in life, but also loved being a homemaker after her daughter was born.  She loved to sew and cook.

Mrs. Funderburk is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Funderburk; five brothers, Archie Johnson, Walter Johnson and his wife, Barbara, Eddie Johnson and his wife, Doris, Don Johnson and his wife, Jane, and Lee Johnson and his wife, Debbie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Funderburk was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, C.A. Funderburk; her parents; and three brothers, Ernest Johnson, Robert Johnson, and J.W. Johnson.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Funderburk will be 2:00 pm Sunday, June 16, 2019 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC officiated by Pastor Todd Rudisill.  Burial will follow at Dudley Baptist Church Cemetery, 101 Dudley Church Road, Pageland, SC.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Burgess Funeral Home.  Memorials on behalf of Mrs. Funderburk may be made to the charity of one's choosing.
