LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::Mr. Lawrence Allen "Larry" Martin, age 70, died Monday, April 27, 2015. He was born October 23, 1944 in Patterson, NJ, the son of the late Lawrence Henry Martin and Ruth Hunt Martin and was the husband of Karen Stogner Martin. Mr. Martin was currently employed with Morrison Textile Machinery Company where he had worked for 51 years. He enjoyed Nascar Racing. Richard Petty and Jeff Gordon were his favorite drivers. He was a big fan of the Miami Dolphins and the Carolina Panthers. Mr. Martin served our country in the United States Army. He enjoyed fishing and was of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 43 years, Karen Stogner Martin; three sons, Wayne Martin and his wife Christal of Lancaster, Tommy "Tom" Martin and his wife Tania of Charlotte, and Tim Martin of Lancaster; a daughter, Wendy Martin-Williams and her husband Greg also of Lancaster; a sister, Carol DenBlyker and her husband Bob of Cary, NC, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Martin will be 11:00 am, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Charles Phillips. Entombment will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday evening, April 29, 2015 at Burgess Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, PO Box 608, Lancaster, SC 29720.
