LANCASTER, SC::::::::::Mrs. Laura Jane Funderburk Riner, age 86, died Sunday, March 27, 2016 at the Lancaster Convalescent Center. She was born December 24, 1929 in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late Haron Broadus Funderburk and Irene Funderburk Funderburk and was the wife of the late James Marvin Riner. Mrs. Riner retired from Lancaster Frozen Foods and later retired from Crenshaw Oil Company. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was very involved in the Sunday school nursery.
Mrs. Riner is survived by a son, Dean Riner and his wife, Wendy of Lancaster; a daughter, Beth Creech and her husband, Tim of Blythewood; a brother, Broadus Dub Funderburk and his wife, Lillian of Pageland; two sisters, Jo Riner of Lancaster and Sybil Schwartz of Heath Springs; and four grandchildren, Andrew Riner, Allison Riner, Taylor Creech and Krista Creech.
Mrs. Riner was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, C. L. Funderburk and a sister, Gladys Baskins.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mrs. Riner will be 11:00 am Friday, April 1, 2016 at Lancaster Memorial Park by Rev. Jessie Adams.
