LANCASTER, SC ~ Ms. Laura Gail Everall, lovingly known as “Lauralee”, age 75, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 25, 1951, in Lancaster, SC, the daughter of the late Richard Odell Everall and Oveta Elizabeth McAteer Everall. Laura received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Central Piedmont Community College and she was employed as a nurse at several places during her career including Springs Memorial Hospital, Bowater, the Diabetes Center in Lancaster, and Fresenius Kidney Care in Fort Lawn. She made lifelong friends at all her places of employment who she cherished greatly. Working with Winona’s Flowers answering phones and delivering flowers was one of Laura’s most enjoyable times. Laura also served for many years on the board of directors for Children’s Attention Home in Rock Hill, SC. Caring for others was her passion in life. Laura enjoyed cross stitch, reading, and listening to gospel music. She loved her family dearly, especially being “Mimi” to Colton and Sadie. Laura was a member of Zion Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School since she was 17 years old, was involved in children’s events, and served on many various church committees.
Laura is survived by John Snipes (Anna), who she considered her son; goddaughter, Keli Lathan Thomas (Shawn);; Keli’s children who called her Mimi, Colton Thomas and Sadie Grace Thomas; special cousins, Janet and Ray Knight, Peggy Marshall, Marilyn and Herman Spence, Dianne and Tommy Snipes, and Debbie Hodge; numerous other relatives; and very close friends, Joye Whitaker, Mike Battle, and Jerry Brindle .
Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Oveta Everall; and the love of her life, Tony Neal.
The Celebration of Life Service for Laura will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Zion Methodist Church officiated by Dr. Trent McLaughlin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, one hour prior to the service, in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to the Zion Methodist Church, 1665 Zion Road, Lancaster, SC 29720, Children’s Attention Home, PO Box 2912, Rock Hill, SC 29732, or Heart of Hospice, 901 W. Meeting St., Lancaster, SC 29720.
