Lawrence E. Armstrong, affectionately known as Larry, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, in his home at the beach that he loved so much. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 11, 1949. Larry moved to Rock Hill, South Carolina, where he grew up surrounded by family and friends. Larry dedicated most of his career to the local telephone company, where he built a reputation for his hard work and friendly spirit. In his later years, he embraced the beach life with joy, living each day to the fullest.

Those who knew Larry will remember him as a happy, kind, and genuine man who brought light to every room he entered. He was deeply devoted to his family, and grateful for every moment shared with loved ones.

Larry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Goodman Armstrong; his son, Jeremiah "J.R." Armstrong (Jimmie Lynn); his step-son, Bryan Wright; four grandchildren, Devin Armstrong, Landon Armstrong, Izzy Wright, and Fritz Wright; and many special family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Josephine Armstrong; and his half-brother, Hal Clark.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Burgess Funeral Home, 1800 Charlotte Hwy., Lancaster, SC 29720.
