LANCASTER, SC:::::Mrs. Laraine Lucas Moore, age 70, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. She was born December 17, 1946 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late James Barney Lucas and Ollie Mae Deese Lucas and was the wife of Michael Moore. Mrs. Moore loved animals, the beach, especially the Gulf coast and was of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband, Michael Moore; a son, Eddie Broughton and his wife, Emily of Atmore, AL; a daughter, Kimberly Jay and her husband, Kendall of Uriah, AL; two brothers, Leonard Lucas and his wife, Tammy Looper and Jay B. Lucas and his wife, Mitzi both of Lancaster; a sister, Pam Pruitt and her husband, Wayne of Van Wyck; five grandchildren, Carlie Crutchfield, Katelyn Broughton, Emrie Broughton, D. J. Jay, Dustin Broughton and Tony Wilson; and eight great grandchildren.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by a brother, Dewey F. Lucas.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Moore will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 14, 2017 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Wayne Pruitt.

The family will meet at the home of her brother and sister in law, Jay B. and Mitzi Lucas and suggest memorial contributions to the Lancaster SPCA, PO Box 3042, Lancaster, SC 29721.
