IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laney
Broome
December 23, 2010 – June 15, 2022
MONROE, NC ~ Our precious Laney Bug – Laney Hart Decker Broome, 11-year-old daughter of Michael and Leigh Ann Decker-Broome went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Laney loved life and demonstrated those traits that many people could only hope for; things like selflessness, positive thinker, giver, respect, inquisitive, planner, creative, imaginative, helpful, defender of the less fortunate, caring, forgiving, compassionate, and an intense love for her brother. Her love of animals was so amazing, and she was constantly training, feeding, teaching, walking, and talking with them – horses, dogs, cats, pigs, birds, emus, cows, donkeys – it didn't matter. She loved singing, dancing, gymnastics and doing her nails. With her focus on the future, she aspired to write her own song, continue to build her Mom and Dad's business and move to a career that involved animals. Laney Bug gave us so many fond memories during her precious life that will forever make us all better people for having her in our lives.
Laney's celebration of life will be Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 11:00am in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Family Life Center (238 Fort Mill Highway, Indian Land, SC) with graveside service following officiated by Reverend Joel McMakin. The family will greet family and friends during a visitation following the graveside service in the Family Life Center.
In addition to her parents, Michael and Leigh, Laney is survived by her brother Caleb Decker; grandparents, Tony and Marie Broome, Anne Hart, Richard and Utchie Decker; great grandfathers, Bill Laney and Raymond Decker; uncles, Dustin Broome, Evan (wife Nicole) Decker, Ryan (wife Aline) Decker, Justin Decker, and Carol (husband Earl) Rickle; and many cousins.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to Maple Ridge Ranch (a Christian horse camp) to sponsor a child for camp, 2857 Montrose Turnpike, Owego, NY 13827 marking to scholarship fund.
Laney's parents, brother, and family wish to thank all of those who have sought to make this difficult journey one of peace and comfort and for that we will all be eternally grateful. God bless each and every one of you. Laney would tell you to treasure life, live each moment to the absolute fullest, stand up for others, treat people kindly, don't be afraid of life, and above all, love God and live according to his direction.
