Obituary

LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Kathryn Mahaffey Cole, age 80, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at her home. She was born August 21, 1937 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late William Gary Mahaffey and Fannie Bowers Mahaffey Green and was the wife of the late Eugene Bobby Lamar Cole. Mrs. Cole retired from Springs Industries Grace Bleachery. She deeply loved her family and her grandchildren. She was a very devoted lifetime member of Springdell Baptist Church and was an active member of the Vota Vita Sunday School class and the Senior Adults.

Mrs. Cole is survived by two sons, Steven Cole and Chuck Cole (Debbie), both of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Haley Mills (Heath), Merridy Andrews (Tim) and Allison Cole and her fiance', Josh Hammond; six great grandchildren, Gabriel, Zoe, Dallas, Callan, Brody and Brooks; a brother, Jack Mahaffey (Carolyn) of Mooresville, NC; and two sisters, Frances Jackson and Eva Mae Ghent (Jimmy) both of Lancaster.

Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, David Brian Cole and a daughter in law, Kris James Cole.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Cole will be 11:00 am Friday, July 20, 2018 at Springdell Baptist Church by Rev. Donald Tillman. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 11:00 am, one-hour prior to the service, at the church and other times at the home of Chuck and Debbie Cole. Memorial contributions may be made to Springdell Baptist Church, 1420 Springdell Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
