Obituary

Fort Mill, SC – Karen Diane Frost, 79, of Fort Mill passed away on August 20, 2019 after a valiant battle against pancreatic cancer. Mrs. Frost was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late Frank Burnett and Eileen Burnett on April 1, 1940.

Karen was a devoted wife and mother and was known for her love of caring for the poor and elderly. She was a nurse and missionary in both Haiti and Ecuador. She was a choir enthusiast and never missed a chance to sing for the sick in the hospitals where she worked. Her dream was to touch others with the love of Christ and to raise a family with the love of her life Jerry. She graduated from nursing school in 1964 and went on to Bible training at Columbia International University to prepare for a life of missionary work. She married Jerome (Jerry) P. Frost in Indianapolis in 1969 and soon moved to Haiti to work as a nurse. In 1987 the family moved Ecuador where they would serve for almost 15 years until finally retiring to Fort Mill, SC.

Karen's last days were spent in the company and love of her immediate family telling stories, singing her favorite hymns and reading her favorite Bible passages. Karen was adored by her two children and will be deeply missed. Mrs. Frost was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eileen Burnett. She is survived by her husband Jerry Frost of Fort Mill, SC; her two children, David L. Frost of Charlotte, NC; and Rob F. Frost of Greer, SC; and six grandchildren Lucy, Lois, Sabrina, Nadia, Hope, and Leia Frost.
