J.Lee Cammell of Fort Mill, SC, formerly of Findlay, Ohio passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at his home.
He was born on June 14, 1937 to Marvene and Martha (Pever) Cammell in Cygnet, Ohio. He married Sally (Brumbaugh) on November 18, 1962, and she survives.
Also surviving are his three children, Kimberly (Tim) Furiate, Weddington, NC, Gregory (Amy) Cammell of Ada, MI, and Sarah (Jamie) Houck of Greer, SC; six grandchildren Nathan (Brittany) Furiate, Caroline (Mat) Duncan, Kate and Will Cammell, and Reese and Reagan Houck; and one great grandchild, Arthur Furiate; and his sister Patricia (Tom) Kaltenbach of North Baltimore.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Richard Royer.
Lee graduated from Cygnet High School in Cygnet, Ohio and Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio and later obtained an additional business degree from the University of Findlay. He retired from Marathon Oil Company in Findlay, Ohio in 1999 with over 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
While living in the Fort Mill area, Lee attended First Baptist Church of Fort Mill. He participated in a local Bible study group, and various clubs and organizations within his community. His hobbies included golfing, camping, and woodworking. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Lee looked forward to spending time in Florida in his later years, as well as traveling throughout the United States. He enjoyed cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians. Lee will be remembered as a caring and loving father and grandfather whose family always came first. He was kind, gentle, and took a sincere interest in other people.
