Obituary

LANCASTER, SC ~ Manley B. Bowers, Jr. (Junior), 80 years old, of Lancaster, SC was called home to be with Jesus on January 27, 2022. He was a man of his word, and always ready to help anyone in need. He always talked about how good God has been to him. Born January 2, 1942, in Lancaster, SC; he was preceded in death by his father, Manley B. Bowers, Sr., mother, Mary Louise Player Bowers, and sister, Barbara Medlin Bowers.

Junior had many friends and he loved to talk to them all the time. He cherished his friends. He loved his family, and he loved his wife, Linda of 25 years. He was truly a legend of a good man.

Mr. Bowers is survived by his loving wife, Linda Bowers; two sons, Gregg Bowers and his family, and Manley B. Bowers, III "Trey"; and a daughter, Crystal Langley Smith. He had several grandchildren and great grandchildren, too many to mention, but he loved them all!! Also survived by a stepson, Heath Herring and his family; a stepdaughter, Haley Dingus and her family; his brother, Billy Bowers and Kathy Bowers; his sister, Jeanne Gardner and her family; and nieces and nephews.

The service for Mr. Bowers will be 3:00 pm Sunday, January 30, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home. The visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00 pm. Intermittent will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Jackson Shrine Club in Lancaster, SC, and The Shriner's Children Hospital.
