LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. Julian Ellison Walters, age 55, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center. He was born February 27, 1958 in Lancaster, the son of Richard Allen Walters and Nancy Taylor Walters. Julian coached girls' softball and Dixie Youth Baseball where his team won the City Championship in the late 80's. He loved his family, his Harley, the beach and his Clemson Tigers. Mr. Walters was an engineer with DMP in Rock Hill and a member of Lynwood United Methodist Church.
Mr. Walters is survived by his parents, Richard Allen Walters and Nancy Taylor Walters of Lancaster, a daughter, Jillian C. Walters of Lancaster, his former wife, Patty Walters of Lancaster, a brother, Ronnie Walters and his wife Allison of Charleston, SC, a sister, Carol Hicks and her husband Greg of Lexington, SC, three nephews, Turner Walters and his wife Katherine of Rock Hill, Taylor Walters and John Thomas Walters both of Charleston, and a niece, Kathryn Hicks of Lexington.
Mr. Walters was preceded in death by a brother, 2nd Lieutenant Ricky Walters.
The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Walters will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home by Rev. Betty Hudson. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.
The Family of Mr. Walters will receive friends from 1:00- 2:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Drive, Columbia, SC 29210.
The family will be at the home of his parents, 2217 Lynwood Drive, Lancaster.
