LANCASTER, SC:::::::::::: Mrs. Julia Criminger Barfield, age 88, died Friday evening, August 29, 2008. She was born February 10, 1920 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late Seth Criminger and Blanche Bowers Criminger and was the wife of the late James Elmer Barfield. Mrs. Barfield retired from Springs Industries - Grace Bleachery and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Barfield is survived by a son, Jesse Barfield and his wife Sheila of Lancaster, a sister, Jo Faulkenberry of Lancaster, 3 grandchildren, Jessica Barfield, Jonathan Barfield, and Hope Craig, and 3 great grandchildren, Brooke, Justin, and Layne Craig.Mrs. Barfield was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Barfield, a grandson, Michael Dale Barfield, 3 brothers, Horace Criminger, Roscoe Criminger, and Norwood Criminger, and a sister, Clara Dill. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Barfield will be 3:00 pm, Monday afternoon, September 1, 2008 at Hartley Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Kathy Hudson with entombment to follow at Lancaster Memorial Park Mausoleum. The Family of Mrs. Barfield will receive friends one hour prior to service, from 2:00 - 3:00 pm Monday at the funeral home and suggest memorial contributions be made to Grace United Methodist Church, PO Box 418, Lancaster, SC 29721 or Hospice of South Carolina, 412 N.
