LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Juan Martinez Clavijo, age 52, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022. He was born January 31, 1970, a son of Brigido Martinez Rico and Esperanza Clavijo Zoabedra and was the husband of Cheryl Lynn Merritt Martinez. Juan was a very hard worker; he enjoyed all types of work. He loved his chihuahua, daisy. He especially enjoyed working in his garden. He was very family oriented and was a wonderful husband, brother, and uncle.

Juan is survived by his wife of 13 years; Cheryl Martinez; his parents, Brigido Martinez Rico and Esperanza Clavijo Zoabedra; his brother, Angel Martinez (Angelica Garcia); his bonus son, Thomas Everett; his nephews, Erick Martinez, Axcel Martinez, Miguel Martinez, Jose Rico, Victor Rico, David Huber, and Eric Huber; his sister-in-law, Cynthia Webb (Mark); and a large extended family.

The Celebration of Life Service for Juan will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 11, 2022, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Father Javier Heredia. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am - 11:00am, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home.
