INDIAN LAND, SC ~ Mrs. Joyce Griffin McGuirt, age 87, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024.  She was born June 22, 1936, in Lancaster, daughter of the late Marshall Olin Griffin and the late Addie Rodgers Griffin and was the wife of the late Robert Harley McGuirt. Mrs. McGuirt enjoyed puzzle books, painting, bird watching, and working with her plants. She loved Steve Harvey and her three cats, Peaches, Maxx, and Bacon. Mrs. McGuirt was a member of Bel Air United Methodist Church where she loved singing in the choir and was the church organist for over 50 years.

Mrs. McGuirt is survived by her three daughters, Lyn Kithcart (Bob Holcombe), Kim Yarborough, and Terri Tonya Day; her grandson, Lawrence Maurice Kithcart (Stephanie); her five dear great-grandchildren; and two nephews, Steve Miller, and Don Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McGuirt; her parents, Marshall and Addie Griffin; and two siblings, Olin Griffin Jr., and Eldora Miller.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. McGuirt will be 11:00 am Monday, January 29, 2024, at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Chaplain Gerald Moss.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, one hour prior to the service, at Burgess Funeral Home. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Hospice Care, 500 Lakeshore Pkwy, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
