LANCASTER, SC ~ Mrs. Joyce Branner Forbis, age 78, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at her home.  She was born January 17, 1943 in Sanford, NC, a daughter of the late Donald Harding Branner and Lillian Kelly Branner and was the wife of Phil Forbis.  Joyce was brought up in Charlotte, NC and later moved to Lancaster.  She was a graduate of Lancaster High School and Kings College.  She worked for many years for Dr. William Duke and retired as office manager for Dr. Merhad Yousefian. Joyce cherished her family and friends and enjoyed entertaining, camping and shagging and was a charter member of the Lancaster Shag Club.  Joyce was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church and loved her church family and her Blue Hurricane family.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Phil Forbis; two daughters, Debbie McManus Haynes (Mike) and Donna McManus Moree (David); five grandchildren, Haven Langley, Garrett Haynes (Kristen), Kaitlyn Haynes (fiancé Logan Waldo), Blake Langley (Autumn) and Will Langley; a special cousin, Deborah Hayne; and special friends, Barbara Barrett, Wanda Ghent, Sue Faulkenberry, Deborah and Chris Horton, and a dear friend and caretaker, Earline Young.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; a son in law, Jamie Langley and a brother, James "Jimmy" Smith.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Joyce will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Camp Creek Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Randy Mellichamp and Rev. Mike Haynes.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mask are required. The family will greet friends following the graveside service in the church family life center.
