LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Joseph Albert Bailey Sr., age 88, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021.  He was born March 30, 1933, in Eupora, MS, the son of the late Joseph Poovey Bailey and Katie Lou Williams Bailey and was the husband of the late Sondra Hansel Bailey. Mr. Bailey enjoyed traveling in his motorhome, antiques, camping with his sons and the Porter Wagoner Show. He was an avid art pottery collector and liked traveling to pottery shows. Mr. Bailey was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where he served on the cemetery committee.

Mr. Bailey is survived by two children, Marvin Bailey (Lynn), and Joseph Albert Bailey, Jr.; daughter-in-law; Susan Bailey McGaughy (Chuck); seven grandchildren, Emilee Bailey Vaughn (Ryan), Sara Grace Bailey, Savannah Bailey, Jacob Bailey, Ashlyn Bailey, Ian McGaughy, and Kenny Bailey; two great grandchildren, Joseph Parker-Pascal Vaughn, and Kennedy Ryan Vaughn.

Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Sondra Hansel Bailey; a son, Larry Wayne Bailey; and his parents Joseph and Katie Lou Bailey.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Bailey will be 11:00 am Thursday, August 26, 2021, at St. Luke United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Eddie Usher.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service and suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 128 Providence Rd. Lancaster, SC 29720.
