LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Jorge Mario Diaz Suarez, age 84, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024. He was born February 18, 1940, in Caracas, Venezuela, a son of the late Buenaventura Diaz and the late Clorinda Diaz Suarez and was the loving husband of Dianne Leonardi Diaz. Jorge was known for his golden personality and was loved by many. He was a wonderful husband, father, uncle "Jorgie", tio, and most of all the best, Papi! He loved his family wholeheartedly, especially his two grandchildren, and his two fur babies, Abby and Louie. Jorge enjoyed his espresso machine and cooking. He was known for cooking the best rice. He loved everything water. In his younger years, he loved sailing and in most recent years, going on cruises. Jorge was an avid reader and loved reading on his Kindle. He retired from Duke Energy after working for 27 years as an Electrical Engineer.

Jorge is survived by his loving wife of 49 years; Dianne Diaz; his daughter, Christina Diaz (Julie); his grandchildren, who called him "Papi", Olivia Florence Diaz, and Alexander Jorge Diaz; his special nieces, Jacque "Ugly", Maria Fernanda Diaz Suarez, and Rosita Esquivel; his special nephew, Carlos Diaz; and many other special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Guillermo "Willy" Diaz, Eduardo "Eddie" Diaz, and Charlie Diaz.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the home of Jorge and Dianne, "La Casita" as Jorge called it. The family invites you to drop in and share special memories and celebrate the wonderful life of Jorge.
