LANCASTER, SC ::::::::::: Mrs. Jonnie Coates Gardner, age 82, died Sunday, February 13, 2011 at her residence at Morningside of Lancaster. She was born December 26, 1928 in Lancaster County, the daughter of the late John Edward "Eddie" Coates and Nettie Belle Catoe Coates and was the wife of the late Clyde B. "C.B." Gardner. Mrs. Gardner retired from Springs Industries - Grace Bleachery Lab Dept. and was a member Second Baptist Church. Mrs. Gardner is survived by 2 sons, Bobbie Gardner and his wife Dianne of Hendersonville, NC and Rick Gardner and wife Betsy of Lancaster, a daughter Angie Gardner Chittam and her husband Wade of Lancaster, 5 brothers; Oscar Coates, Bill Coates, Cotton Coates, Emerson Coates and Joel Coates all of Kershaw, grandchildren; Leigh and Simon Isanhart, Jana and Derek Nicely, Amy Norman, Nichole Chittam, Adam and Heather Chittam, Delaney Gardner, Rick Gardner, Jr., and 5 great grandchildren; Haleigh and Hannah Isanhart, Ryan and Jake Nicely and Mya Norman. Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Coates and sister, Mildred Simpson. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mrs. Gardner will be 3:00 pm Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Second Baptist Church by Rev. Keith Coates, Rev. Larry Helm, Dr. Jim Spencer and Dr. W.L. "Bill" Coates, Jr. Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park. The Family of Mrs. Gardner will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Monday evening, February 14, 2011 at Hartley Funeral Home and the family suggests memorials to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N.
