LANCASTER, SC ~ Johnsie "McAteer" Williams, age 80, passed away, Saturday, December 7, 2024. She was born January 30, 1944, in Lancaster, SC, daughter of the late John David McAteer and Lucille Plyler McAteer. Johnsie received her bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and her master's degree from Winthrop University in education and she retired from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as a teacher. She enjoyed playing tennis, bridge, and going to the beach with her friends.  Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved watching them and spending time with them. Johnsie loved sharing her beach home with family and friends.  She was of the Methodist faith.

Johnsie is survived by her daughter, Leah Primm (Keith); two grandchildren, Brandon Primm and Ainsley Primm; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Robert "Bobby" David McAteer.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 12, 2024, at Weddington Methodist Church.
