FORT LAWN, SC::::::::::Mrs. Johnsie Vincent Turner, age 81, died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at her home. She was born June 6, 1934 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Tillman John Vincent and Mary Mackey Vincent and was the wife of Roy Gene Turner. Mrs. Turner retired from the Fort Lawn Post Office after 31 years of service at the age of 71 to be with her husband. She also worked for Springs Industries and was an assistant teacher for the Chester County School District. Mrs. Turner had a servant's heart, loved her family, and displayed her love for God to everyone she met. She was humble, loved taking care of others, and always put others before herself. She was a member of Fort Lawn Baptist Church.
Mrs. Turner is survived by her husband Roy Gene Turner, a son, Roy Gene Turner, Jr. and his wife, Kerry of Fort Lawn, a daughter, Sabrina Turner Cauthen and her husband, Robert also of Fort Lawn, a sister, Brenda Vincent Stacks of Lancaster and three grandchildren, Briana Horne, Joseph "Joey" Gene Turner and Michael Wade Turner.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Vincent Gibson.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mrs. Turner will be 12:00 pm Monday, November 16, 2015 at Fort Lawn Baptist Church by Dr. Ted Hodges and Rev. Larry Linderman.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 11:00 - 12:00 pm, Monday in the church fellowship hall and suggest in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Fort lawn Baptist Church, PO Box 250, Fort Lawn, SC 29714 or to Fort Lawn Elmwood Cemetery, PO Box 54, Fort Lawn, SC 29714.
