LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. Johnny Ray Funderburk, age 83, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021.  He was born November 26, 1937 in Lancaster, a son of the late Frank M. Funderburk and Daisy Knight Funderburk and was the husband of Ann Stacks Funderburk.   Mr. Funderburk retired from Springs Industries (Grace Bleachery).  He enjoyed gardening.  Mr. Funderburk was very outgoing, never met a stranger, and loved meeting up with his friends.  He loved life and people.  Mr. Funderburk was a member of Spring Hill Baptist Church where he enjoyed going on trips with the senior group and chaperoning the youth trips.

Mr. Funderburk is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann S. Funderburk; three daughters, Gayle Caskey (Billy), Wanda Sirk (Curt), and Susan Green (Greg); eight grandchildren, Brandy Reed (Aaron), Brandon Caskey (Jillian), Lacey Funderburk, Corey Pope, Colby Caskey (Jessica), Kaylee Caskey, Caylin Sirk, and Ansley Green; five great grandchildren, Declan Reed, Mason Hall, Everleigh Caskey, Willow Caskey, and Emmett Caskey; a sister, Jeanette Sapp; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Funderburk was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Funderburk; his parents; three brothers, Wesley Funderburk, Frank Funderburk, Jr., and Fred Funderburk; and three sisters, Evelyn Miller, Mary Sue Catoe, and Loraine Boone.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Funderburk will be 3:00 pm Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Spring Hill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Brad Threatt and Rev. Shawn Macy.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
