LANCASTER, SC ~ Johnnie Sue Fant, age 100, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021.  She was born October 9, 1920 in Lavonia, GA, a daughter of the late John Henry Chasteen and Beulah Ann Howell Chasteen and was the wife of the late Preston Walter Fant.  Mrs. Fant loved her family, especially her granddaughters and great grandchildren. Her life was dedicated to caring for her family.   She enjoyed going and setting up at the flea market as she done for many years.  Mrs. Fant was an avid Braves baseball fan and Dallas Cowboys fan. While her husband was in the Air Force, she raced with Powder Puff girls.    She was a member of Anderson Baptist Church.

Mrs. Fant is survived by two sons, Charles Preston Fant, and Paul Eugene Fant (Debbie); two granddaughters, Tasha Fant (David Dutton), and Joni Wuori (Mark); five great grandchildren, Trinity, Preston, Colt, Ruby and Waylon; two brothers, Marvin Chasteen, and Noah Chasteen; and four sisters, Helen Lollis, Catherine Hendrix, Juanita Hester, and Christine Turner.

Mrs. Fant was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Fant; her parents; three brothers, Rufus Chasteen, Harold Chasteen, and James Chasteen; and two sisters, Mildred Jordan, and Annie Mae Lollis.

The Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Fant will be 11:00 am Saturday, February 13, 2021 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Randy Mellichamp.  Burial will follow at Lancaster Memorial Park.  Social distancing will be practiced, and masks are required.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00, one hour prior to the service at Burgess Funeral Home Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
