LANCASTER, SC ~ Mr. John Taplin Walden, age 76, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at his home.  He was born February 24, 1944, a son of the late Johnny Taplin Walden and Eva Lipe Walden and was the husband of Sandra Deese Walden.  Mr. Walden proudly served his country in the United States Army and received several medals.  He enjoyed working with wood and fishing was his favorite thing to do.  Mr. Walden was very handy, could fix anything, and would help anyone in need.  His family remembers him lovingly as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather that loved his family deeply.  Mr. Walden served as pastor in the past at Tabernacle of Faith in McConnells, SC.

Mr. Walden is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sandra Walden; four sons, Lynn Walden, John David Walden (Kayla), Michael English (Erin), and Jason English; a daughter, Susie Walden (Randy); twenty-three grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Delaine Robertson (Tom), Debra Hayes, and Barbara Marlin; many nieces and nephews; and very close family friends, Mark and Christine Smith.

Mr. Walden was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Shane English; two brothers, Bo Walden, and Kenny Walden; a sister, Janice Paquett; and three brothers-in-law, Charlie Hayes, Allen Marlin, and Ron Paquett.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Walden will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Rock Hill Christian Church, 380 Museum Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
