LANCASTER, SC:::::::::: Mr. John Robert Johnny' Preuss, Jr., age 48, died Monday, January 4, 2010 at Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born April 4, 1961 in Lancaster, the son of Frances Arant Estridge and the late John Robert Preuss, Sr. and was the husband of Terry Bowden Cauthen. Mr. Preuss was a Class A mechanic and worked with heavy equipment. He was a former employee of Davey Tree Company, loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Preuss is survived by his mother, Frances Arant Estridge of Lancaster, his wife, Terry Bowden Cauthen of the home, one brother, Mark Preuss, one sister, Kay Rumsey and her husband Pat both of Lancaster, a step-brother, Ronald Estridge of Greenville, SC, 2 step-sisters, Terry Veal and Linda Price both of Lancaster, three nephews, Pat Jr., Kris and Brandon Rumsey and one niece, Mary Preuss all of Lancaster.The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Preuss will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 7, 2010 at The Chapel of Hartley Funeral Home by Rev. Doug Taylor, Rev. Jack Nunn, and Rev. Jesse Adams with burial to follow at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. The Family of Mr. Preuss will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Wednesday evening, January 6, 2010 at Hartley Funeral Home and suggest memorial contributions be made to a Charity or Church of your Choice.
