LANCASTER, SC - Rev. John Kenneth "Kenny" Pressley, age 78, passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 21, 1946, in York, SC, a son of the late Nealy Pressley and Hazel Maness Pressley and was the husband of Helen J. Pressley. He was the minister and founder of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. He was also the owner of Pressley Construction and was a diesel mechanic for over 20 years. Kenny served in the Army National Guard for six years and enjoyed go-cart racing with his friends and family, cooking and gardening. He loved Jesus, his Lord and Savior, and never missed an opportunity to share his love for Christ with others.

Rev. Pressley is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen Pressley; his children, Ruth Ann Helms of Monroe, NC; Kenneth D. Pressley (Susie) of Charlotte, NC; J. Scott Pressley (Becky) of Cordova, SC; and Monica D. Garris (Jamie) of Indian Land, SC; ten grandchildren, Kayla, Greg, Maranda, Eric, Madison, Susie, Brianna, Zachary, Jake and Jonathan; twelve great-grandchildren; four sisters, Carolyn Hemby, Joyce Barks (Ron), Jan Brown (Riley), and Pam Fultz (Bob); and two brothers, Jerry Pressley (Robbie) and Luke Pressley (Barbara).

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Joe Lee Pressley, Sam Pressley, Bill Pressley, David Pressley and a baby brother and a sister, Betty Haywood.

The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Rev. Pressley will be 11:00 am Saturday morning, May 11, 2024, at Calvary Freewill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Nick Parker and Layman Mike Carter. Burial will follow at Center Grove Memorial Park.
