LANCASTER, SC :::::::: Mr. John Thomas Plyler, age 66, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at his home. He was born April 1, 1947 in Lancaster County, the son of the late John Douglas Plyler and Loretta Horne Plyler and was the husband of the late Dianne Small Plyler. Mr. Plyler retired from Springs Industries, was a lifetime member of Wannamaker Masonic Lodge and of the Baptist Faith.
Mr. Plyler is survived by a daughter, Melissa Worthington and her husband Billy of Lancaster, 3 brothers, Robert Glenn Plyler and his wife Phyllis of Columbia, Douglas Ray Plyler and his wife Sandra of Lancaster, and David Alan Plyler of Lancaster, close kin, Horace Carnes of Pageland, close friend Nancy Kearns of Lancaster, and 5 grandchildren, Lesley McClam, Blake Jenkins, Briana Jenkins, Matthew Jenkins and Willow Worthington.
The Celebration of Life Graveside Funeral Service for Mr. Plyler will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Randy Mellichamp. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow.
The Family of Mr. Plyler will receive immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall and the family suggests memorials be made to Camp Creek Baptist Church, Children's Fund, 998 Potter Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
