VAN WYCK, SC :::::::::: Mr. John Edwin Nisbet, age 58, of 8308 Van Wyck Road, died Thursday, June 5, 2008. He was born April 21, 1950 in Lancaster County, the son of the late William Oliver Nisbet and Ida Jones Quintard Nisbet. Mr. Nisbet graduated from Winthrop University with a Bachelors Degree in Education and received his Masters Degree from Western Carolina University. He was a Guidance Counselor for Waxhaw Elementary School and previously the Assistant Principal for Woodfin Elementary School in Buncombe County, NC. He was a member of Van Wyck Presbyterian Church. Mr. Nisbet is survived by a son, Daniel Oliver Nisbet of Hendersonville, NC, a daughter, Emily Virginia Nisbet of Avondale Estates, GA, 3 brothers, Rev. Bill Nisbet and his wife Cheryl of Marietta, GA, Ned Nisbet of Boulder, CO, and Lee Nisbet and his wife Meg of Corte Madera, CA, a sister, Caroline Hewett and her husband Carl of Charlotte, NC, and his former wife, Rena Nisbet of Hendersonville, NC. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Nisbet will be 2:00 pm, Sunday afternoon, June 8, 2008 at Van Wyck Presbyterian Church by Rev. Randy McSpadden. The Family of Mr. Nisbet will receive friends from 5:00 -7:00 pm Saturday evening, June 7, 2008 at Van Wyck Community Center and also following the service on Sunday afternoon in the church fellowship hall. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Van Wyck Presbyterian Church, 5140 Old Hickory Road, Lancaster, SC 29720.
