LANCASTER, SCDr. John Edmond Lothers, Jr., age 84, died Monday, May 16, 2016 at his home. He was born November 25, 1931 in Wichita, Kansas, a son of the late John Edmond Lothers, Sr. and Mary Ewing Lothers and the husband of Ruth Jones Lothers. Dr. Lothers retired from Covenant College as a Biology Professor. He enjoyed volunteering at the Museum of the Alphabet at JAARS. He loved his grandchildren and was an avid reader. Dr. Lothers was a member of Trinity PCA Church in Van Wyck and was faithful to his church family.
Dr. Lothers is survived by his wife, Ruth Jones Lothers; two sons, John Ward Lothers and his wife, Mary of Ruckersville, VA and Michael Lothers and his wife, Laura of Lancaster, SC; four grandchildren, Frederick Nelson Lothers, Joanna Carole Lothers, David Josiah Lothers and Samuel Timothy Lothers; and a sister, Bobbye Elliott of Olathe, Kansas.
Dr. Lothers was preceded in death by a brother, William Lothers.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Dr. Lothers will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Trinity PCA Church in Van Wyck by Rev. Dieter Paulson.
