INDIAN LAND, SC – Mr. John Timko, Jr., age 87, passed away, Thursday March 27, 2025 at his home. He was born September 22, 1937, in Spangler, Pennsylvania, a son of the late John Timko, Sr. and the late Ruth Ann Smith Timko and was the loving husband of the late Carolyn V. Kennington Timko. Mr. Timko proudly served in The United States Air Force as Master Sergent, serving in the Vietnam War and retired after serving for 20 years. After retirement, Mr. Timko was a teacher for 18 years at Andrew Jackson Middle School. He also enjoyed playing golf, fishing, reading, and traveling. Mr. Timko was a member of Aspen Grove Church in Indian Land.

Mr. Timko is survived by his son, Douglas W. Timko; his two daughters, Kelly Ann Shirley, and Kasey Marie Howie (Tim); four grandchildren, Brandy (Josh), Jackson, Joseph, Ashleigh; seven step-grandchildren; Erin, Pace (Alexis), Tarra (Rusty), Kirk, Kody (Leah), Josie, and Ryan; nine great-grandchildren, Aarlyn, Levi, Asher, Leland, Aria, Lila, Wade, Liam, Hayden; his four stepchildren, Paul Wallace, Kelly Elaine Singer (Dirk), Carla Faulkenberry (Billy), and Martha Roberts (George Ray); and many special family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Timko; his son, William Daniel Timko; and his sister, Elizabeth Louise Kreeves.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Mr. Timko will 10:00am on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025 at The Chapel of Burgess Funeral Home.

The Celebration of Life Graveside Service for Mr. Timko will be 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
