LANCASTER, SC :::::::::: Mr. John Paul "J.P." Ormand, age 73, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his home. He was born June 27, 1941 in Lancaster County, the son of the late David Anderson Ormand, Sr. and Edna Roberts Ormand and was the husband of Kitty Kirkley Ormand. Mr. Ormand retired from Duff-Norton Company, was a loving husband and father, doting grandfather and a faithful member of Hopewell United Methodist Church.

Mr. Ormand is survived by his wife, Kitty Kirkley Ormand, a son, Tim Ormand and his wife Nancy of Simpsonville, 2 daughters, Marla O. Plyler and her husband Hal of Lancaster, and Monica O. Dickson and her husband Heath of Rock Hill, a brother, Marion P. Ormand of Cherokee, NC, 2 sisters, Peggy O. Flynn and her husband Floyd and Nancy O. Jenkins and her husband Clyde both of Lancaster, and 7 grandchildren, Savannah and Sarah Grace Ormand, Logan, Abigail, and Lydia Plyler, Brock and Cohen Dickson.

Mr. Ormand was preceded in death by 4 brothers, David A. Ormand, Jr. Robert E. Ormand, Jack Ormand, and Charles Ray Ormand and 2 sisters, Frances O. Steele and Jean Ormand.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 17, 2014 at Hopewell United Methodist Church by Rev. David Inman.

The Family of Mr. Ormand will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Burgess Funeral Home and the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hopewell United Methodist Church or Agape Hospice.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 17, 2014 at Hopewell United Methodist Church by Rev. David Inman.

The Family of Mr. Ormand will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Burgess Funeral Home.
